"Kala Fara or The Triumph of Nature" was created in isolation during the current pandemic.
It explores the themes of life, death, rebirth and nature, both human and the ecosystem itself.
This piece is meant to be a reminder that in a world besieged by death from pandemic, the sun will rise and the flowers of humanity and the planet itself will continue to grow. That we will survivre this. That we will triumph as nature continues to triumph.
The young woman represents humanity, still in it's youth in relation to the planet itself, surrounding by flowers, the various colors representing the different geographic areas of the world. Together as one! Her hair is worn half-down, a sign of mourning in the Hova, Merina, and Betsileo tribes of my home Madagascar. So we mourn those lost to this tragedy, and we pay tribute to them by triumphing over this pandemic.
This painting is a reminder that we are all together more so than ever, linked by our souls and our natures.
This artwork speaks to this moment in time, a time when we as people must isolate and separate and seemingly disappear to survive.
This pandemic has caused so many empty setas around the world. We have lost so many.
At the same time, we have been given an opportunity tu unite as a global community.
We need equality for all to succeed. We need empty seats to be filled with men and women of all ages who can contribute to the success of society as a whole.
Who will fill the seats that will transform this world?
The cage door is open, look who hold the power? It is the woman.
She controlled her own destiny, she freed herself. Now she must confront those who built the cage.
We do not live in a world where people should be caged in and admired like some zoo pet. A cage is a prison and criminals belong in prisons, not innocent beings whose only crime is being female.
I see freedom!
